While Niles does have some of that, much of his character is more understated and subtle digs, and subtle glances of contempt. I’m watching S9E3: The First Temptation of Daphne. The scene where Daphne confesses what she did at the end is great. Even when he isn’t speaking, he runs the whole spectrum of emotions.
