Seasons 5 to 7 are still excellent seasons as well but the quantity of mediocre/poor episodes (which aren't very many to be fair) are higher than the earlier seasons. I personally find seasons 8 to 10 to be very inconsistent in terms of quality. A lot of Frasier is the loud blowhard over the top monologues and outbursts. While Niles does have some of that, much of his character is more understated and subtle digs, and subtle glances of contempt. I’m watching S9E3: The First Temptation of Daphne. The scene where Daphne confesses what she did at the end is great. Even when he isn’t speaking, he runs the whole spectrum of emotions.
